Islamabad: Khalil Haqqani, the refugee minister of the Taliban government in Afghanistan, has been assassinated. After the Taliban returned to power in 2021, this is the biggest attack on any of its leaders. While some people are saying that Haqqani’s murder will lead to unrest in Afghanistan, it may have an impact in Pakistan as well. Pakistan’s political commentator Qamar Cheema has talked about this. He has also warned the Pakistan government about the possible consequences after this incident. Talking on Haqqani’s death, Qamar Cheema said, ‘People of Haqqani network are considered close to Pakistan and they have an influence in Afghanistan. Other members of the family of the slain minister are also ministers in the Afghan government. People of this family have been involved in the fight against both Russia and America, which shows their influence. While talking about the relationship between Pakistan and Taliban, Cheema said that TTP is continuously carrying out attacks in Pakistan and targeting security forces. TTP is getting help from Taliban in Afghanistan. This has created problems for Islamabad. What will be the impact on Pakistan? Qamar Cheema says that at one time Pakistan helped Taliban but now the situation is completely different. Today Pakistan is looking to get rid of Taliban at any cost. On one hand there is the issue of security and on the other hand Pakistan is facing the issue of Afghan refugees. Afghan refugees remain in Pakistan. In such a situation, any stir in Afghanistan or their mutual fight can become a problem for Pakistan. Cheema said that due to the killing of Haqqani, a new wave of violence can also be seen. Due to this, the security issue of Pakistan may rise to a new level. It is also believed that the people of Islamic State may have committed this murder because this group is also trying to increase its influence. In such a situation, if a war starts then it will not be easy to stop it because this is not a trained military. This will push the country into civil war. On the threat of Pakistan, Cheema said that a big problem is that many groups active in Afghanistan call Pakistani people infidels. They feel that Pak Army is against Islam. In such a situation, this movement in Afghanistan can prove to be a big problem for Pakistan. It cannot be denied that attacks may increase in Pakistan.
