The UN agency said on Friday that the final supply of food logistics has been distributed in the cooks that prepared hot food, where it is expected to end within a few days. WFP has warned that if the steps are not taken immediately, it may be forced to stop a lot of assistance for the needy families in the Gaza. “The situation within the Gaza band has reached the verge of cracking once: people are ending the way to face these circumstances, and the progress that was recorded during the short period’s ceasefire has been wired.” For the past several weeks, cooks of the Gaza Strip are the only permanent sources for food aid. Through these, only half the population is being provided help, and it also fulfills their one-fourth of their daily needs. WFP was also providing assistance to 25 bakery, but due to the fuel for flour and cooking, all of them stopped on 31 March. During the same week, the food packets being distributed to the families were also over. Due to the closure of all the boundary posts for entry into the supply for two months, human assistance has not been provided here for the last seven weeks. Other senior officials including the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterresh have called for frequent relief routes. It is, due to which the burden on markets and food systems already facing delicate situations has increased. In the appeal to open a help corridor, the ceasefire that came into the beginning of this year has now recorded a jump of 1,400 percent in food prices compared to the situation. Eating and drinking items are available in very small quantities, which is a matter of great concern. The risk of malnutrition of dead children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, elderly and other weak persons has been deepened. It has been said that more than one lakh metric tonnes of food aid is ready for more than one month to enter the Gaza Strip, so that more than 10 lakh people can be provided food for more than 10 lakh people. As soon as the boundaries open, WFP will try to carry out the supply with its partner organizations.
