In these discussions, as the leader of the delegation of India, Dr. Hansa Mehta participated there and in the draft of the UDHR manifesto, his article one was the most important. The most important was that it was written in the form that all men are born with freedom and equal rights. But Dr. Hansa Mehta said that this sentence is based on gender and he strongly opposed it. He said that all human beings take birth with freedom and equal dignity and rights, that is, they talked about changing the man and keeping a man… It was a new phase for the whole world and she became a guide. There was a historical and revolutionary change and such an inclusive language was not in the discussion of the people at that time. But Dr. Hansa Mehta saw his experience and what was in the women at that time, put it on the world stage and started a new round of a new inclusive structure and I believe that this was a very important and revolutionary event in the battle of women’s rights and so we remember the doctor Hansa today. Question- India has an important role in the peace defense missions of the United Nations. Recently, a conference has been held in Delhi on the presence of women in UN peace defense campaigns, so what is the situation about the presence of Indian women in the UN Peace Defense Mission? India makes the biggest contribution to peace and in the last 80 years, about 3 lakh soldiers from our country were deployed in more than 50 United Nations Missions worldwide. He tried to protect peace around the world. Out of that, more than 180 people also sacrificed their lives for world peace. In 2007, for the first time in India, women police units were deployed in Liberia, it was a revolutionary step of that time. For the first time a female unit participated in such a peace defense mission. After that, India also deployed a women’s team in Kango. And after this, similar women’s teams were deployed in Sudan and in South Sudan. See when there is conflict or conflict, it has a very bad effect on women and the difficulties of such women can understand the other woman. So when India deployed women soldiers in such missions, its purpose is women empowerment, emphasizing livelihood development and also an active effort on other community activities. We held a conference in New Delhi last month and was the theme of this conference: Increasing the role of women in peace guards, the experience of a global south. Women officials from 35 countries participated in it. The UN’s Under General Secretary, Jai Pier Lacroa also participated in it. This turned out to be the same result. Today, the debate is not on the subject whether women can participate in such a peace defense mission, not at all… Today’s debate is the subject of peace protection mission, to fulfill her goals, women can do their work without peacekeepers. If you say, if you say, there has been a change of 180 degrees, so this conference was very important and I believe that in the coming days, women are very contributing and will remain active and we will see that it will continue to grow. ” Does So what step is taking India for the strength of women? SDG emphasizes five women empowerment … it is very important. In order to promote the implementation of women empowerment, India has taken an important revolutionary step. It is called in English we call SDG Localization or Hindi, localization of sustainable development goals. This is a very revolutionary step because we are empowering the magistrate at the district level so that these sustainable development goals are available, the figures of their implementation, they have available to them every day in reality, this year, this year, these proposals of women’s peace and security are available. Under it, it has been 25 years this year. We see women empowerment from the point of view of the entire society and the entire government. We look and adopt from that point of view. We guarantee women, fundamental rights and the Government of India has established strong laws and policy structure. If there is a case of harassment at the workplace, if there is a case of domestic violence, then it includes important laws protecting women. Government’s campaign – Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao or Prime Minister’s Matri Vandana Yojana is to promote the education of daughters and provide financial assistance to pregnant and breastfeeding women. We also emphasize on student and skill development and in addition to local rule last year, in India’s Parliament, a third reservation has been done for women, which is very revolutionary and it will be very revolutionary. I say that this will make the political voice of women very strong. Prasan-India is also very active in development in the countries of South-South and is also running many development plans in the UN partnership. So in which countries these development plans are going on? India and UN’s Development Partnership Fund shows our priority. Especially those who are the least developed countries or are the developing countries surrounded by land or small islands are developing countries or the Global South which is the Global South Country, India UN partnership funds are important to provide assistance to all these. We provide assistance to our partners according to their needs. These are according to the demand and focuses on their needs. There are a large part in national ownership and we focus on their local abilities, ie to promote their civil abilities, on the projects of this fund. This is the development agenda of 2030, which has been very important in all our UN organs here. We also pay more attention to it in our project. There are many topics in it: health, women development, water and hygiene, human development, ICT and climate capacity. There are more than 80 such projects that we are running in many countries through this fund. I would like to mention women empowerment projects especially in Benin, Zambia, Kyrgyzstan and Malawi, where development plans are running with concrete results. These funds show a strong partnership between India and UN and India has received a total of 15 million dollars for this fund. In Africa, the US and Asian regions, our projects are currently underway in about 65 countries. India advocates the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, which matches the multilateralism, which talks about taking all countries together. So what India is doing to strengthen multi-purview or make it successful? The basic spirit or original mantra of Indian civilization is inspired by Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam means that we consider the whole world as our family. Under this principle, our approach on all multilateral forums, we run on the basis of this basic mantra of this principle. As far as there is talk of multilateral cooperation, our commitment on this principle is always strong. Both multilateralism and the United Nations can be called two sides of the same coin. India -UN Partnership Fund gives an important evidence that when we play partnership with other countries in multilateral forums, our approach is going to look towards the future. We move forward from this creative point of view. But as we all know that the current systems and structures of the United Nations are now demanding comprehensive improvement. The structure of the United Nations is not reflecting today’s realities, this 80 world organization year old … as the UN General Secretary said that the structure of our great -grandfather is not good for the era of our grandson. This world organization is not according to today’s reality, so we have always appreciated and advised restructured multilateralism. Multikainism is very important … especially in the United Nations … I repeated the statement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the future conference in September (2024), in which he said that reform is the key to relevance.
