Tehran: 27-year-old singer Parastu Ahmadi was arrested in Iran on Saturday. Ahmadi has been arrested for doing an online concert on YouTube without hijab. News agency AP has given this information quoting an Iranian lawyer. On Wednesday, a video was uploaded on YouTube in which Ahmadi performed live. Ahmadi wore a long sleeveless and collared dress, but she did not wear a hijab. Ahmadi was accompanied by four male musicians at the event. A case was registered against Ahmadi by the judiciary on Thursday. Iranian lawyer Milad Panahipour said Parastu Ahmadi, 27, was arrested on Saturday in the city of Sari, the capital of the northern province of Mazandaran. Panahipour also confirmed that two of the band’s members, Sohail Faghih Nasiri and Ahsan Beraghdar, were arrested at their music studio in Tehran on the same day. Singing for the country I love with all my heart is a right I cannot ignore.
