New law on bank checks in Tunisia: an economic and social earthquake

In Tunisia, a new law on checks that entered into force on February 2 divides public opinion. To fight against the phenomenon of wooden checks, very widespread in the country and punished by heavy prison sentences, the government has set up a system of checks with a cap and traceability, a problem for many Tunisians who used old checks to stagger their payments.
