St cascaders Devin La Bella filed a lawsuit against the director Kevin Costner due to the filming of the rape scene in his film “Horizons: Part 2”. La Bella demanded from the Costner and the team of producers compensation for damage for sexualized harassment, a hostile working environment and violation of the terms of the contract. La Bella in the film acted as an understudy of actress Ella Hunt. According to the plaintiff, once she was forced to play in the rape scene without prior preparation and notification (all scenes that include imitation of sex require notification of actors in 48 hours and obtaining their obvious consent). The scene, says La Bella, was shot without the obligatory presence of the coordinator in intimate scenes. Also, the site during the filming was not closed, although for scenes of a delicate nature, including nudity, sex or rape, only the minimum required number of members of the film crew should be present in place. “I remained a defenseless, unprotected and deeply devoted system that promised security and professionalism,” La Bella said in a lawsuit. Costar lawyers rejected the accusations, saying that the understudy already “many times similarly accused people from the industry.” The film “Horizons: Part two” is Western, released in August 2024.
