Monday in the middle of the day, a gigantic electrical breakdown affects Spain, Portugal and the French Basque Country. Quickly, the manager of the French network RTE restored the current in the region but for Madrid and Lisbon, the problem continues. The European electrical network, very interconnected, is the largest in the world but it is aging. And the economic consequences can amount to billions, or even in tens of billions of euros, depending on the duration of the Blackout, still in progress in most of the Spanish and Portuguese territories late Monday evening.
