New Delhi. After the arrest of Khalistani terrorist Arsh Singh Gill alias Arsh Dalla in Canada, the first official reaction has come from India on this issue.
India has expressed hope that Canada will extradite Arsh Dalla to India. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, while clarifying India’s stand on the arrest of Arsh Dalla, said that he is hopeful that the Khalistani terrorist will be extradited. He said that the concerned agencies are following the extradition request of Arsh Dalla. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has got another opportunity to improve bilateral relations with India. But Truda has already been exposed with Dalla’s arrest. In such a situation, if the Trudeau government now creates any kind of obstacle in the extradition of Dalla, then Canada’s intentions towards terrorism will also become known. The first statement from India has come out after the arrest of Khalistani terrorist Arsh Dalla. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhi Jaiswal said, ‘We have seen media reports circulating since November 10 on the arrest in Canada of Arsh Singh Gill alias Arsh Dalla, the actual chief of Khalistan Tiger Force and declared criminal. Canadian print and visual media have reported widely on the arrest. We understand that the Ontario Court has listed the case for hearing. Arsh Dalla: The 28-year-old boy from the village of Punjab, who sits in Canada and gets murders done in India. Wanted in more than 50 cases. Randhir Jaiswal said that Arsh Dalla is linked to terrorism including murder, attempt to murder, extortion and terror financing. He is a declared criminal in more than 50 cases. A Red Corner Notice was issued against him in May 2022. He was designated as a terrorist in India in 2023. In July 2023, the Government of India requested the Government of Canada for his temporary arrest, which was rejected. The Foreign Ministry said that additional information was provided in this matter. Extradition of Arsh Dalla: The Department of External Affairs said that a separate request was also sent to Canada under MLAT to verify Arsh Dalla’s suspected residential address, his financial transactions in India, details of movable/immovable properties, mobile numbers etc. In December 2023, the Justice Department of Canada requested additional information on the case. The answers to these questions were sent in March this year. Randhir Jaiswal said that in view of the recent arrest, our agencies will take action on the extradition request. Given Arsh Dalla’s criminal record in India and his involvement in similar illegal activities in Canada, it is expected that he will be extradited.
