Up to ten Chinese car brands can leave the Russian market before the end of the year, Kommersant writes with reference to the opinion of dealers and analysts. The main reasons for this are the excess offer, low consumer activity and acute competition in the automotive market, the publication notes. Buyers prefer the most famous brands, as they have better maintenance. In turn, sales of some less popular brands are calculated on a scale of all of Russia only a few cars per month. As the main applicants for the departure, the sources of Kommersant are called, in particular, Oting, Kaiii, SWM, Livan, VGV and MG. By the state of 2024, there were 57 Chinese car brands in Russia. Only 11 of them officially attended the Russian market before the start of the war. For the first quarter of 2025, 213 showrooms of Chinese brands were closed in Russia. This is 3.2 times more than in the same period a year earlier. (Tagstotranslate) News
