The atmosphere at the Oedi kiosk in Frankfurt is international. “One Moretti, please.” In addition to Birra Moretti, there is a large selection of bright, various other drinks, chips and everything you need for a relaxing end of work. Young people meet here, talked to German, English, Spanish, enjoy the evening sun. The last rays fall, thanks to the recently changed time change, still over the old construction lines on the Oeder Weg on the wooden benches and loungers, which the city set up at the point in the course of the redesign of the bicycle -friendly road. A father passes, the little daughter on his shoulders, apparently on the way home. “I’m not tired yet,” protests the little one. Well understandable on this beautiful spring evening. The air for the seating, which has been set up between planted steel containers, lies in the air. For example, from the customers who stand in front of the neighboring “aroma” snake in a long line. Inside, hardly larger on an area than a bathroom, a perfectly coordinated nine-person team prepares one falafel after the other. The waiting people are hungry, many can be noted that the snack is only the start of a longer evening. They think about where to go next, who you want to meet later. It is expectation in the air. A short break: a couple sits on one of the public deck chairs on the Oeder. No music booms on the street over boxes, chatting guests and laughing, sipping their colorful drinks. Between the styled and fried guests who pose in front of their smartphone and take pictures of each other, small children always flit around with ice cream. Many of the guests have small red buzzers in their hands that vibrate when the order is finished and can be picked up at the counter inside. The two come here more often, not only because of “food and drinks”, but also because of the mood. “It’s always full here,” says Kristina. “I also have no explanation for this relaxed atmosphere.” If a glass breaks, an employee quickly comes with a shovel and broom and sweeps the broken pieces. Nobody screams, nobody is crazy, and with a few exceptions the road remains free of the celebrations. Often goes hand in hand with nice weather: overflowing trash can frank Rumpenhorstauf the path from the north end to the city center, it gets fuller, at the main guard, the last customers of the department stores meet the first night owls, in the direction of Paulsplatz the tourists are added. The colorful human melange continues over the Römerberg into the old town, where there is a celebration in front of a wine bar and the bass over the pavement of the chicken market. The blue hour has now been over, it has become dark, but a little further towards Main on the terraces of the bars on Fischerfeldplatz is high. Here, too, around the place shortly before the old bridge, the topic of noise has already led to conflicts with local residents – as in many places in Frankfurt.Pontanparty with 1000 personal people at the Oeder around three weeks ago. There was a spontaneous party with almost a thousand people on a sunny Friday evening, as the police estimated. A bar on Eschersheimer Landstraße had invited to the “Day Drinking” in the afternoon, and the police reached complaints in the early evening that people blocked the sidewalk and the road. The officials then had to redirect the traffic and ask the people to leave the street with a loudspeaker. According to the police, the organizer ended three hours before the planned ending. Again the police had to move up and redirect the traffic, and people were on the road again. Residents and other traders have complained about the noise and the kiosk. “It was totally stupid,” says an employee of the kiosk. “This party didn’t come from us at all.” The next morning the street was full of garbage and excrement that she and others should have removed. Around midnight, according to the police, there were hardly any people left on site. Prost: Some prefer to buy a beer in a “Späti” than in a bar. “Such celebrations are not in our minds.” In the Cosmic you make sure not to be too loud in the evening, so just before ten, the guests would therefore point out in front of the bar to either change the place or get in with the drinks. Just in time to ten, the sidewalk empties in front of the bar. A group of young men squeezes into a Uber, a couple drinks the last sip from the wine glasses and strolls along the Oeder, others snap their drinks and celebrate in the Cosmic a little further. Reliably open as soon as the temperatures rise and the evenings get longer. The residents can rely on the so -called TA noise, the technical guidance to protect against noise that is supposed to protect the night’s sleep between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.. The local advisory board responsible for the city center last year demanded that the city should actually oblige the host to actually close its terraces at 10 p.m. Florian Joeckel, who runs the Massif Central in Bethmannhof and has just opened a new event location in the former e-cinemas at the main guard, one of those who urge the rules. “On the hand”: In a kiosk there are drinks for on the go. “Spätis”, i.e. the shopping kiosks opened to the night for a long time, on which people willing to party can stock up on drinks. He has nothing against the kiosks, says Joeckel, but the restaurants and bars would also have to be allowed to open their outdoor area for longer, and other things than when celebrating on the park bench or on the banks of the Main, it was guaranteed in the gastronomic companies that the guests did not leave any garbage and otherwise decent. Joeckel believes that Frankfurt and other major German cities, through too strict guidelines for the outdoor catering, fell behind internationally. “We are also a business city – and through our over -correction we cut ourselves into our own meat.” “Let’s let’s have a little fun” in front of the Cosmic. “It is sympathetic that so many people stand together and drink something here,” says the 26 -year -old Franka. She understands the residents, but she also thinks “that you have to leave the church in the village”. There is no music here, there is no violence, and the mood is friendly. And the residents also know where they live. “We are still young and have just got Corona behind us, let’s have a little fun.” Around 11 p.m. the square in front of the Cosmic emptied, and there are also not a lot of people in the Oeder path towards the city center. Occasionally, guests are still sitting in or in front of restaurants, some still get a drink in the “Späti” and move on or stand in front and chat in front of it. There is still a lot going on in the Eschenheim facility. Young people in particular sit and stand around benches, talk and drink alcohol. A couple kisses under a street lamp, the friends cheer them. The group may move on to a club, but maybe they will stay there. “The night is still young,” says one of them. “And we have time.”
