Gabon votes on Saturday to elect its future president, 19 months after the August 2023 putsch which overthrew the Bongo dynasty and brought General Brice Oligui Nguema in power. The latter predicted “a historic victory” against the seven candidates in the running, including former Prime Minister Alain-Claude Bilie by Nze.
