CDU Presidium member Jens Spahn contradicted the allegation that he wanted to normalize how to deal with the AfD. “I didn’t use the word normalization,” said Spahn on the ZDF program “Markus Lanz”. He personally experience hatred and agitation and sometimes anti-gay sayings when he passed the ranks of the AfD MPs. “Nobody really has to tell me what kind of guys are in their ranks. I know that,” emphasized Spahn. Spahn had triggered violent controversy with the proposal to deal with the AfD on organizational questions in the Bundestag as with other opposition parties. On ZDF he said there were rules of the game in parliament. They could change them or forced everyone to play according to the rules, he was for the latter so as not to put this party into a victim role. Spahn also pointed out that the AfD with Peter Boehringer provided the chairman of the budget committee from 2018 to 2021. Boehringer did the “ok” that he did not hear major complaints, said the deputy chairwoman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group. The former Bärbel Bas, the former Bärbel Bas “Markus Lanz” said that she understood Spahn’s statement so that he wanted to normalize the AfD. “And I can only warn against it.” Since moving into the Bundestag, the AfD has radicalized, in which it abuse language and institutions for their purposes. Bas also warned against bringing the AfD into functions in which it represented the Bundestag as an institution as an institution as committee chairwoman and vice president. The executive Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser also warned of normalization in dealing with the AfD. “The AfD is not a opposition party like others. If you want to treat it and thus continue to normalize it, you make a serious mistake,” the SPD politician told the newspapers of the Funke media group. Courts have confirmed that the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution had rightly classified the AfD as a right -wing extremist suspicion. “The consensus of the democratic center has always been that representatives of such a party should not be responsible anywhere,” she emphasized.
