Man saved from rubble after five days

Five days after the devastating earthquake in Myanmar, a man was resolved from the rubble alive. Shortly after midnight (local time), the 26-year-old was freed from a team of Turkish and local rescue workers from the ruins of a hotel in the capital Naypyidaw, the fire brigade and the ruling Junta of the Southeast Asian country said on Wednesday. The man was therefore a hotel employee. On Facebook, the Fire Services Department shared a video that shows the rescue of the man. The man looks exhausted and next to him when several firefighters pull him out of an air shaft between broken concrete slabs – under the applause of her colleague. After more than 90 hours, it was announced that a woman had been rescued from the rubble more than 90 hours after the earthquake. The 63-year-old was found in the capital Naypyidaw under the remains of a collapsed house and brought to a hospital, the local broadcaster DVB TV reported on Wednesday, citing the emergency services. Two firefighters are looking for fire brigade for survivors. Number is still increasing, since there is now hardly any hope for at least 440 missing people. The situation in the civil war country is desperate. On Friday, the earthquakes mainly shaked the second largest city of Mandalay, the Sagaing region and the capital Naypyidaw. But they were also clearly felt in the Thai capital Bangkok. Rescue workers are still trying to find and recover survivors. However, hopes are disappearing every day. The quake had also caused devastation in the neighboring country of Thailand. In the capital Bangkok, a 30-story high-rise, which was under construction, collapsed. 22 deaths have now been recovered there, more than 70 people are still missing.
