Women have a more important personal contribution to the “robot portrait” of women owners, borrowing statistics reveal that they are 39 years old on average (43.5 years in 2019) when they buy, against 36 years for men (41 years in 2019). They also have a greater personal contribution: almost a quarter (22.9 %, 49,661 euros) on average the cost of their project against 20.8 % (42,587 euros) for men. Their acquisition, however comparable, costs on average 12,000 euros more for a surface equivalent to that of men (71 m2, against 70 m² for them). Among the women to whom Le Parisien gave the floor, Léa, 27, has just bought an apartment of 23 m² in Melun. It even managed to review its price down, bringing it from 79,000 to 72,000 euros. “I saved for a year an contribution of 7,000 euros, I benefited from a zero rate loan and did not have trouble finding a bank for the rest,” explains the young woman, who earns 1,700 euros net per month. As for Pauline, divorced medical secretary and mother of two children, she asked a broker to help her borrow because her bank refused to follow her.
