In his latest essay “Judeo-Christian civilization: anatomy of an imposture”, the Tunisian historian and journalist Sophie Bessis dismantles a concept that has become central to European political speeches. Behind this idea of a common Judeo-Christian base, it denounces an exclusion tool-vis-à-vis Islam, but also from Judeo-Arab cultures, especially in North Africa. Guest of the JTA, she returns to the ideological origins of this myth, its contemporary uses, and calls for a diasporical thought from the SUDs to rethink identities.
