On April 16, the Izmailovsky District Court of Moscow registered in relation to the editor -in -chief of Medusa Ivan Kolpakov, the Mediazona reported. The journalist is accused under the article on participation in an “unwanted” organization (Article 20.33 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). What exactly became the reason for the administrative case is unknown. The showing in the case has not yet been appointed. The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation declared Medusa an “undesirable” organization in January 2023. According to the “mediazones”, Russian courts appointed more than 130 fines for communication with “undesirable” media. Most of these administrative cases – 54 pieces – are associated with the mention of “Medusa” or involvement in the publication.
