The Quantum plant stopped the assembly of TVs of the Russian brand IRBIS, Kommersant reports with reference to the letter of the general director of the factory Mikhail Etonov from March 17. The letter states that the production of TVs was stopped in all diagonals (from 32 to 65 inches). The resumption of production in the second and third quarters of 2025 is not planned, Kommersant writes. According to the sources of the newspaper, the refusal of production is associated with “low demand for such products”, as well as “a long design of documents for being in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade”. Voronezh Kwant is the only manufacturer of domestic televisions in Russia, included in the Russian electronic products of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Kommersant notes. The plant’s website says that there are four assemblies with a capacity of up to 3.5 thousand TVs per shift. The market participants say that other TV manufacturers will not be able to fulfill the conditions for public procurement. According to Larisa Senina, director of the Marvel-Distribution KBT department, Russian state-owned companies consider the products of Chinese manufacturers as an alternative. The director of the OCS household electronics department, Vladislav Borodin, notes that for the retail buyer, the IRBIS brand TVs are not suitable because of their high price against the background of competitors. According to the Kommersant source, now there are about 70 different brands in Russia in Russia, mostly foreign ones-in particular South Korean LG and South Korean LG and Samsung.
