The Ministry of Commerce of Turkey will not take a ban on the export of lemons, which was announced the day before. After a meeting with farmers on April 8, the Minister of Trade of Omer Bolat reported on the social network X. According to the Bolat, the meeting participants managed to agree that lemons would not be sold at speculative prices until a new crop appeared on the market and stable prices for these citrus fruits will be provided. The internal market will be strictly controlled, and the checks will continue. Turkey announced plans to ban lemons on April 7 due to frosts in the provinces, where the main plantations of citrus fruits are located, as well as the need to resolve internal demand and maintain prices.
