Why do you pay (often) more expensive than necessary?

To conduct this survey, the association’s investigators were based on a criterion: obtaining a package for a 12 -year -old child without internet access. In these five major operators, Orange is best, but the share of shops that proposed the right package does not exceed 64%. It is three points more than SFR and seven more than Bouygues Telecom. Free only proposed the right package in one in two cases while La Poste Mobile arrives far behind (45%). The volunteers of the UFC-Que Choisir also had to assess the interest in demand, store reception, explanations and involvement of the salesperson. And there again, the disparities are large from one operator to another. If Orange, SFR and La Poste Mobile show good interest in this request, this is not at all the case of Free, whose quality of the explanations is also called into question. The kindness is however overall good in the 789 shops visited, but apart from the mobile post, information on the communication of the price of the SIM card is described as poor or bad in all other operators. As for the prices, the UFC-Que Choisir Note that Orange turns out to be the most expensive with an average price offered at 12.47 euros while the operator has a package at 8.99 euros. Free would also direct customers in half of the cases to a package at 8.99 euros while it offers a sufficient formula at 2 euros. But more generally, this survey highlights other practices deemed abusive. A lack of transparency and commercial pressures denounced by the consumer association, because it is often to the detriment of the oldest people who are offered expensive and unsuitable smartphones or packages with price increase a few months later. Why such practices? Because often, the commercial objectives set for sellers allow them to obtain bonuses or bonuses. In the opposite direction, managers are paid according to the results of their team.
